Please read these terms carefully before using our taxi services. By booking with Southampton Taxis, you agree to these terms.
1. Definitions & Interpretation
In these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:
- "Company" refers to Southampton Taxis
- "Customer" refers to any person or entity booking our services
- "Service" refers to taxi transportation services provided
- "Booking" refers to the reservation of our services
2. Booking & Reservations
All bookings are subject to vehicle and driver availability.
- Bookings can be made via phone, online, or in-person
- Advanced booking is recommended, especially for airport transfers
- Same-day bookings are subject to availability
- We reserve the right to refuse any booking
Important: Please provide accurate pickup and destination information. Incorrect information may result in additional charges.
3. Pricing & Payment
Our pricing structure is transparent and competitive.
- Fixed prices are quoted for pre-booked journeys
- Metered fares apply for immediate hires without prior quotation
- Additional charges may apply for:
- Waiting time beyond the free waiting period
- Additional stops not included in original booking
- Congestion charges and tolls
- Late-night supplements (11 PM - 6 AM)
- Payment can be made by cash, card, or contactless payment
4. Cancellation Policy
We understand that plans can change.
- Free cancellation up to 1 hour before scheduled pickup time
- Late cancellations (less than 1 hour notice) may incur a fee
- No-show charges apply if the customer is not present at pickup location
- Airport transfer cancellations require 2 hours notice
Note: Repeated cancellations may result in booking restrictions.
5. Customer Responsibilities
Customers are expected to:
- Provide accurate pickup and destination details
- Be ready at the specified pickup time
- Ensure children are properly restrained according to UK law
- Treat drivers and vehicles with respect
- Pay the agreed fare upon completion of journey
6. Liability & Insurance
We maintain comprehensive insurance coverage for all our vehicles.
- We are not liable for delays caused by traffic conditions, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances
- Customers are responsible for their personal belongings
- We carry public liability insurance up to £5,000,000
- All drivers are licensed by Southampton City Council
7. Vehicle Capacity & Luggage
For safety and comfort, please adhere to vehicle capacity limits.
- Maximum passengers: As per vehicle type (4-8 passengers)
- Standard luggage is carried free of charge
- Excessive luggage may require larger vehicle (additional cost)
- Special items (bicycles, sports equipment) must be declared in advance
8. Conduct & Behavior
We maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards:
- Abusive or threatening behavior towards drivers
- Smoking in vehicles
- Consumption of alcohol or illegal substances in vehicles
- Damage to vehicle property
Important: The driver has the right to terminate the journey immediately if customer behavior poses a risk to safety.
9. Data Protection
We comply with GDPR regulations and protect your personal information.
- Personal data is collected for booking purposes only
- We do not share customer data with third parties without consent
- Payment information is processed securely
- You have the right to request deletion of your personal data
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time.
- Changes will be posted on our website
- Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of modified terms
- Major changes will be communicated to regular customers
